First of the Year 20-11

At the ending of a year I always check the purposes that I was committed to do. One person once told me that writing purposes for the year is useless cause most of the times they're rarely achieved . I believe purposes help to define the path we need to follow to find what we are looking for; perhaps happiness, an achievement, a behavior change or a new direction of life.

My proposition is the you write them down at the end of the year and keep track of the completion of them quarterly, I suggest as well to let aims guide your weekly goals and actions; I usually use Sunday to plan my week, this day I take advantage of the time and check my year purposes in order to remember and let them remember where I want to be.

At the end of this year I hope to be happier, find great people to share with them dreams, businesses, projects, ways of think, and contribute more to the city and my country. I'm really worry about the situation in Mexico; about the differences in opportunities that prevail along the county, to know that very rich people is guiding the public policies of the country, that drugs and security is threatening society because of these wealth differences.

I'm convince that we have what we are; the government we elected reflect the social situation.

I'm really glad to come back to the writing and I would be very pleased to read comments of you and to meet people through this forum where I usually share what I am and what I believe in. Hope you a great year!

Inspired

I hope not making that much mistakes while writing this post. I have some months that left this blog forgotten but I've always wanted to keep this thing updated. I say I could make mistakes writing in English cause I also have months without writing or even talking in English; the only thing I do with this language almost every day is reading.

Since last post which was on April, 18th thinks with life have changed; May, Jun, July, August, September and October by the end, almost 6 months... shit... well along these 6 months some things are quite the same; doing a so-called master degree about information systems management, working as a software developer 6 hours a day, working with the firm I'd like to consolidate, and new on this list I have 2 volunteering responsibilities within a urban cycling association and as volunteer on a PMI community with is working to become a chapter.

The 2 new task are really destroying the little free time I used to have but for me those are really important for my personal goals and professional aims.

The first organization is called Ciclos Urbanos AC or translated Urban Cyclers (http://www.facebook.com/ciclos.urbanos). This organization is working to make Culiacan (where I live) a friendly, sustainable and respectful city. With Ciclos Urbanos I've met people who is very interesting, most of them are younger than me but they're really worried about the problems we have. The way they promote a better place to live is using the bicycle cause they argue that motor-based-transportation have stolen streets which should be a place belonging to everybody.

The second organization is a Project Management Institute Community belonging to Mexico Chapter. This group have been working on the promotion of project management best practices aligned to the studies and resources of the PMI. Here I've helped with the development of the business plan and I've support the group with operations stuff... I'm with this group cause I'm convinced that I can find business partners or people who can work with similar projects than those that I'm working with.

Yeah... many things but as I maybe said before, the only think I want is will, motivation and enthusiasm to work on stuff that I like.

Hope you make contact with me, I'm always glad of receiving news from friends.

None Title Post!

Today I just finished my first week being a master student, week of finding the way to overcome the excess of homework, work and new projects.

First, master is quite interesting, it is full of knowledge ready to be exploted, knowledge that create business oportunities. I'm very excited about this master, I know is quite long (2 years and a half long) but I bet it worths it.

Second, everyday I confirm that I'm a philosopher not as a philosopher by career but as person that loves to question every thing and enjoys finding answears or more questions.

Third, some week ago I've realized, what I need is a business partner to complement some skills we (current partners) lack. Every month I see and feel the potential that my business concept has and the benefit it could bring to mexican growing SMO and therefore to the county.

My every-sunday-challenge is how to organize my week to accomplish my week goals.

"Challenge your week and you won't be bored!".

Will Manifest

I'm pretty happy to come back to the writing... writings about my thoughts, ideals, inspiration, life, work, projects, love and so much stuff that need to be expressed.

This time I would like to say, or better said, write about will... :D

Saying something about will is most of the times a cliché but it's a value which needs to be worked evey day and be present in your every day actions. When we start to do something important in your life you often begin with a dream that comes to you from a sleeping night, something impressive that you see, a reaction to something good or bad and other times you start doing something as a mandate, perhaps those actions where motivation come from yourself are those which are most difficult to accomplish... but why? .... because will is absent.

Will is the value that should dominate life of outstanding women and men, I say women and men cause will is not completely rooted during childhood. Perhaps thinking in the overman (übermensch) as the prototype of will is excessive but we should think that Nietzsche's crazyness should be present in people to be outstanding.

I could say I work eveyday to dominate my will and keep doing what my dreams want.

Tuff Week

Feeling better is better :D... Have you ever heard that after a night of party and liters of alcohol your body start to segregate a substance which I think is called serotonin and may cause depression.

I reflect and I realize that I always post on Sunday which is a good day for hangover so maybe I should think of stop drinking or change the posting day... mmm well maybe less booze on Saturday and post on Sunday; it's a better mix :).

I'd like to write about that week that just finished. It was a very stressful but productive week. First as you maybe know I have more than 3 months that I've been play fronttennis which is game similar to squash and tennis of course but I think it's was invented in Mexico. Some friends and me are use to play in the park of the city we've gotten some playing friend who are cool to play with. We play on Mondays and Thursdays and I'm always looking forward to start playing... I mean I used to play tennis before but because of job I stop playing but frontennis has been a very good replace cause I really have fun.

I also start a Adobe Flex course on Monday, its trainning from my job, I mean, we maybe start using this platform to develop the applicacions. It is going to be a 3-week-course and I'm really enjoying learning this.

I just finished I consulting proyect for a new coffee shop called 'minutos coffee'... yeah the name is a mix of spanish-english but the meaning if pretty straightforward, guess it :P. The project was small and I didn't get much money but we finished it quickly and the customer was very happy. I've been also working in an other project proposal which is bigger and much more challenging... I haven't finish the proposal yet but I really would like to close the sale of this project.

As you can seen I had a very full week by the end of the week I was really exahusted, I went out on Friday and Saturday afternoon but Saturday evening I felt asleep... let's see what's comming this this week :)

Read me soon!

Year 2009

New year, new stuff comming.

To finish last year and begin 2009 familiy Chan went to Big Bear, CA; a beautiful place where you can feel the exciting winter sports like skiing and snowboarding. This way I couldn't loose the chance to try skiing for the first time.

The first day I felt down several times, maybe 15 or more so I could realize that falls are the most tiring part of skiing. By the end of the day I was almost death because my body ran out energies and hurt me from the tallest hair to the lowest toe.

The second day I was between excited and afraid but the first feeling overcame the second and I and started with the first rides falling down few times and I soon I feel confortable I slid down faster :D... so this second day way very rewarding and funny.

Last days of vacations cousins and me prepared to visit Six Flags Magic Mountain, a fun park from WarnerBros. It was extremeeee!, the rides are so fucking extreme, so fast, so bent and there are many of these kind of rides. By the end of the day I got a headache and I catched a flu in a ride where i got wet.

The new year started just after the ending of the vacations and work started with new challenges and goals to achieve.

I started working as a asistant in the business incubator where I am, I have the big objective to create new loyal customer and obtain revenues for the business which I'm working for.

So time I feel stuck and with little enegies to keep working. I started thing about the real motivation of this and I think I just find it.

... life is moving and the moment to take advantage of it, it's just now!

Happy New Year!

just back!

Damn more than one month without writing on this… But I’m back…

Well my life, sometimes with exciting stuff but sometime with boring things. Fortunately this month has had more exciting than boring stuff (shit, I can’t write in English, wasting my low English skills :D)

First, we just finish our first consulting project; we’re only waiting for the 2nd part of the payment. It was a point-of-sale software implementation, it last around 3 week. It was quite rewarding cuz the client is young and has the attitude of business man. I could say that I learned but I confess that dealing with more difficult people is a bigger challenge and much more rewarding (not in the economical way).

… I gotta go,
… to be continued…

Hard work

Since my last post I've been working and party hard so you now can imagine the reason I hadn't written on this blog. However I'm still alive and happy with my so-called working life.

But let me give tell what i did this weekend... as you know this weekend was halloween celebration, which is not a mexican but youth use to grasp a costume and let the party and booze do what they know, soo ... I let them do so ... I dressed up as a geek, nerd ... I wore a Windows Vista shirt, trouser by waist, big-nerd-glasses and huge shoes. ... hahah I really looked funny,

We went out to a club, a renew one, which I admit is the one that I prefer; I was so tired so we dance and drink only till 3 am but it was a nice paty...

The are some pics in a friend's facebook... u can check them out!

Sunday’s Writing

Summer is going away here… nights begin earlier and air freshness is felt during mornings and late night, still hot during the day light. With this changes I feel that time is passing so fast… as older I am as faster I feel time past very quickly. I believe because one starts to think strategically, I mean, one start to arrange the pieces of life puzzle and see returns very late.

Finally we (my partner and me) are feeling that we almost find our first customers, I feel very excited but I also feel very nervous, uncertainty is very common in my everyday life but I’ve started to appreciate it and transform it to motivation… well I confess that I feel unmotivated sometimes but hobbies like tennis playing, going to the gym, reading, sometime dancing salsa, listening to relaxing jazz internet radio stations make me feel strong enough to keep me up.

I feel I’ve left many thinks that I shouldn’t but sometimes is necessary to do it in order to fight for dreams and stuff.

This time I wrote in a deeper proper manner, sometime I need it. :D (the word “proper” always make me recall British.

Back to the Writing

I’m back on this finally. Since my last post I’ve been working hard to get customer for my firm. I haven’t gotten any of them but we’ll start on this along September. Funny things are going good, I’m playing tennis 3 times a week but I will reduce it to 2; the other 2 days I work out in the gym to get some muscles :D. I’m also going to dance salsa with my Cuban teacher and some older people, older people are some times funny. I’m also trying to learn German through www.babbel.com. Weekends are always to party… going out, drinking some beers with friends.

One the other hand I feel a bit desperate cause I don’t get enough money to spend so I have to very careful to buy only what I’m needing.

Nothing really big but at least I keep myself busy. Have good week!

Play Ball

It’s time to write again, I’ve been waiting for this moment the whole week. It’s not that I don’t wanna write something when I’m feeling in the mood; it’s that I want Sunday to be the day of the planning, the review of the week and the reflections to have a better week every time.

As I wrote the previous post I started with some of my challenges this last week. I came back to my normal university not the one in Borås, that I love but it’s not that hard like the one where I’m studying now... well, maybe that’s the reason why I love the Swedish one.

Perhaps your know, this is gonna be my last semester of bachelor after four years and a half I will be graduating by the middle of May… whether everything goes alright… but I prefer to think like Bob Marley did “… everything’s gonna be alright…”.

I’m guessing that I will really like this semester because the courses that I’m taking are quite interesting: (1) software quality control, (2) client-server computer systems, (3) comprehensive solutions for companies, (4) information systems seminar and, (5) entrepreneurial development; I’m also enrolled in salsa lessons, tennis training and I’m formalizing a business plan through the business incubator of my university in order to start my own business…

For me, it’s quite a lot of things to do and I’m not considering some other stuff that I use like hobbies and going out. Well, that’s one of my challenges; how to overcome the time constraints. I’m gonna start using a goals/roles techniques to do as much as I can without neglect other things; I’m very exited to see the results…

For my international friends I wanna let you know that the city where I live has been quite cold, it means around 8 degrees the lowest… it’s like summer in Borås, isn’t it?

Well I wanna know about your!... Stay in touch!
